It really does come down to personal preferences- soft vs crunchy bread; American, provolone, or wiz; fine chopped or thick cut steak; even when the cheese and onions are added can make all the difference. For tourists, I can understand the appeal of Pat’s or Geno’s popularity or all night access, but almost any other cheesesteak in Philly is better. Also, our street vendors make excellent cheesesteaks for a great price.
