I don’t think he was talking about tough love. But just giving the person or child room to develop and put their roots out a little for support when on their own. This sounds really really good. However people around us not going to support for lifetime. All on social media which does nothing to fill human connection/touch, a hug, a conversation, a cup of coffee with friends on the block, etc. I can say for myself these people were sincere. I remember a long time friend and neighbor cooking a meal for us. That’s good.
