If we start the narrative of single mom we have the responsibility to continue with the story of why she is a single mom instead of leaving it up to the imagination of the reader, who in the black community will be looking at this through a negative light most likely, her husband could have died, or any other multiple scenarios that could have taken place. Why do people always have to point out that black women are single moms? Just say single family. This is an underhanded diss. We can still be happy for her and her family without acknowledging the typical lifestyle that’s often celebrated.
