Federal prosecutors charged dozens of people, including Hollywood actresses and top coaches, in a large-scale college admissions bribery scandal. This is wrong and unethical and those involved should be prosecuted fully. That said, we as a society need to discuss why we value degrees from a few elite schools so highly that people feel the need to do anything to get their kids into these schools for them to succeed when there are so many other outstanding Universities in this country that can provide excellent educations and lead to successful, fulfilling careers and lives.
